Knockout Baseball

Sacred Heart College sent a composite Knockout Baseball team, consisting of eight Senior School and five Middle School students to play Woodcroft College at the Glenelg Baseball Club on 15 March. The team was successful, winning 7 to 1, thus earning the right to compete in the four team round robin Grand Final! Once again, the lads benefited from the expertise of Old Scholar, Andrew Gluyas and everyone is looking forward to the challenge that lays ahead.

Statewide Knockout Baseball

On Wednesday 29 April, Sacred Heart College participated in the Statewide Knockout Baseball Competition. The team had one win, (6 - 2 vs Tenison Woods College) and one loss, (2 - 5 vs Seaton HS) to finish third. Seaton HS run a specialist Baseball Program, and their team included a current Adelaide Bite player and an exchange scholarship holder from the Japanese Baseball League. The exposure to such a high quality opposition provides invaluable experience for all our players. The boys displayed great resilience and a good measure of skill, and with nine of the 13 players coming from Years 8 and 9, all bodes well for future success!

Special mention and thanks to Natasha Williams, Sharon Davis and Andrew Gluyas, who provide coaching to Middle School students on Friday afternoons. Also to Andrew for his guidance and expertise on the day.

Baseball Coordinator
