SHC Cycling Champion School

Sacred Heart College were crowned as the Champion School at the State School Cycling Championships held at Willunga on Thursday 18 May and Sellicks Beach on Friday 19 May. In a twist, there was a hiccup with the results on the day as St John College were announced as the Champion School with 25 points with Sacred Heart College on 18 points and Sacred Heart Middle School on 10 points. It was pointed out to the organisers that Sacred Heart College is now one school and as a result a recount occurred, and the Championship shield was correctly announced to Sacred Heart College.

Sacred Heart College finished on 28 points ahead of St John's on 25 points and Pembroke on 24 Points.

We congratulate the following cyclists on their success:

  • Tessa Kohn U/17 Girls 1st place overall (winning all four races)
  • Scott Goodwin U/17 3rd in the Criterium Stage and a 4th in the Road Race
  • Jack Francis U/17 B Grade 4th place
  • Elliott Walker U/15 B Grade 1st place.
