From the Head of Middle School (Issue 13 2017)

Winter Sport
Thank you to our growing body of dedicated parent coaches and managers who have made this year's winter sports program possible. It is a vitally important part of our holistic approach to educating the boys and it has been part of our Marist educational heritage for many years.

At Sacred Heart College, we know that involvement in extracurricular activities helps students to feel more connected with our community, which in turn boosts their resilience - not to mention great fun! Many parents, staff and boys enjoy following the journey of our teams in the CEA Newsletter twice per term, sharing in the triumphs and disappointments along the way. Thanks to everyone for another wonderful year of winter sport, and in particular to Mr Adam Rice for his leadership in this area so far this year.

NAPLAN
If your son is in Year 7 or 9 you should have received his NAPLAN results this week. Whilst there is much commentary around NAPLAN with varying points of view, we can use the data to focus in on areas that we can improve in. Please take the time to look through your son's report. Our overall results as a school have again continued to improve, especially in Year 7. I would like to thank all of our dedicated staff who strive to provide the best learning opportunities for our students - they make an incredible team.

Have a great week!

Tim Mullin
Head of Middle School
