From the Head of Senior School (Issue 11 2017)

Welcome back for Term 3!
It is remarkable to consider that we are halfway through the year already. In fact, our Year 12 students are two-thirds through their studies and will complete their formal lessons at the end of Week 2 next term.
This term will be busy for our Year 10 and Year 11 students as they consider their subject selections for 2018. Students will receive Subject Selection Folders in Week 2 and are encouraged to talk with their parents and others regarding future courses of study and career directions.
You will be aware that all teachers at Sacred Heart College participated in professional learning activities in the first week of this term. The staff from the Senior School, Middle School and Marymount College commenced the week with shared professional learning:

The week concluded with a Staff Liturgy in the College Chapel, followed by a shared lunch. Whilst these events were happening, students of Stage 2 subjects were completing Trial Examinations.
It was wonderful to observe students taking advantage of the extended opening hours in the Library during the holidays and thanks are extended to our dedicated teachers who staffed the library during this time. We employed two Old Scholars for two days in the library during the holidays to provide one-on-one tuition to students in Maths and Physics (Sam Laube and Conor Noonan).
