Second Place in Science & Engineering Challenge (Issue 10 2017)

Written on the 6 July 2017

A group of Year 9 boys attended the Science & Engineering Competition on Wednesday 28 June, held by the University of Newcastle. We made it to the regional heats and came second to Emmaus Christian College a fantastic achievement!

The Science & Engineering Challenge is a nationwide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) outreach program in which students experience aspects of Science and Engineering which they would not usually see in school.

We are traditionally the youngest group competing against Year 10s and 11s from other schools. The boys worked brilliantly and the high score we obtained would usually win but we were just pipped at the post! Well done to all boys that took part!
