Year 8's honouring the men in our lives (Issue 14 2017)
Written on the 14 September 2017
On Monday 4 September, notably after Father's Day, the Year 8 students had an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the significant men in their lives. The students gathered for a bacon and egg breakfast cooked by the Year 8 teachers and were joined by some 50 guests who were recognised as significant males in the lives of the boys.
Despite a morning that didn't reflect the new season of spring, the crowd gathered to share some time together over a bite to eat and a cup of coffee. We then moved to the Marist Hall for Mass led by Fr John where, as a community, we celebrated fatherly figures and their contribution to the development of our young men.
It was a special occasion and we thank the students and guests for their contribution. Thank you to Tamara Smith, the Year 8 Staff team and the Maintenance Staff for the planning, preparation and management of the event.
