Year 9 Drama class experience Senior production (Issue 9 2017)

Written on the 22 June 2017

On Thursday 15 June, the Year 9 Drama class headed over to the Senior School to watch the Stage 1 Drama production, 'All Stops Out'. It was a chance for the Year 9 students to see a live performance in the Br Stephen Debourg Centre with a full set, costumes and lighting.

The play is set in the 1980's and explores the pressure of the final year of school, with many issues still relevant in today's society. The boys also had the opportunity to see how the technical side of a show is run from 'upstairs' in the sound and lighting area. We had a demonstration of how the sound effects and lighting cues were controlled from the desk, which was a wonderful insight into the very important 'backstage' roles in Drama.

We thank Robyn Page (Senior Drama teacher) and the Stage 1 Class for this one-off performance for us, and to our parent volunteer Jo for joining us.

Drama Teacher (Middle School)
