Pastoral Care is a core feature of the educational program at Sacred Heart College.

All students in the College are placed into Houses where they meet, interact with and are cared for on a daily basis by a Home Group Teacher.  Many community activities are conducted on a House basis.

Home Group Teachers work closely with students to review academic progress, assist with personal problems, provide advice where necessary and encourage young people to reach their full potential.
In addition to the Pastoral Care system, two Student Counsellors are employed to assist students with specific personal problems or to provide advice about subject and careers in senior secondary.

International students are closely monitored by the Registrar and the Principal.  The Registrar meets regularly with International students to ensure that academic progress, Homestay arrangement and personal development are proceeding well throughout the year.  The Principal is the Guardian of International Students and has ultimate responsibility for student welfare.
