2018 Girls Sport Presentations (Issue 6 2018) Sport

Written on the 1 November 2018

At the conclusion of the 2018 Girls Winter Sport season, 120 athletes, coaches and staff gathered for the annual Girls Sports presentations. The event took place in the McAteer Centre combining with the Boys Sport Presentations over supper on Monday 24 September. It was a wonderful event to formally acknowledge and celebrate our female athletes from 2018. Each team was awarded a Best & Fairest and a Coach's award of choice. The John Cadd Cup for our Best & Fairest Open A Basketball player was awarded to Chelsea Giles after a successful season as Vice Captain. The Netball Open A Best & Fairest Cup was awarded to Elousie Whitford after a brilliant season.

Our Premiership teams were acknowledged and we congratulated our Open B1 SHC3 and Open C1 SHC9 Netball sides on their successful seasons in taking home first place. A full list of all our individual award winners can be seen below.

The SHOC Netball scholarship to be used in the 2019 season was not awarded on the night but announced recently at the SHOC presentation evening. It gives us great pleasure to acknowledge the 2018 recipient, Olivia Allen, for her dedication and commitment to the SHC Netball program. Olivia was a committed member and Captain of our Open A2 side for 2018.

A huge thank you to all our parents, umpires and staff who generously gave their time to ensure the success of the Girls Sports Program and to all our girls for their involvement during 2018. We look forward to another successful year in 2019! Please ensure you complete the 2019 Sport Nominations by Monday 3 December 2018.
