Aboriginal Studies Field Trip (Issue 7 2018)

Written on the 24 May 2018

Ngadjuri and Adjahdura Narrunga Country

On Sunday 6 May, our Stage 1 and 2 Aboriginal Studies students took part in a field trip to Ngadjuri country in the Clare and Burra region, while also visiting Adjahdura Narrunga country on the Yorke Peninsula during their final day. Through engaging with an Aboriginal Tourism experience, students learnt about the traditional culture of the Ngadjuri and Adjahdura Narrunga nations, the struggles of each nation in regards to the dispossession and destruction of land and the contemporary issues and achievements within both nations.

We would like to send a very special thank you to our guide, Quentin Agius, who was very generous with his time, gave us an amazing insight into his culture and was an amazing mentor and example to all of our students. All students agreed that it was an very worthwhile and positive formational experience. We also thank Robyn Sutherland, James Gill, Catherine Blesing and Jessica Caruana for their support of our students on the trip.
