SHC Boccia Comp winners
A very exciting carnival was conducted for athletes with a disability on Tuesday 24 October at the Priceline Stadium where myself (Lachlan James) Fernando Grez, and Daniel Renner (able-bodied student) joined up to compete in the South Australian Schools Boccia competition.
The carnival was for students with a disability as well as for able-bodied students. It was Sacred Heart College's first year competing and we quietly but confidently took out first place, but not without the wonderful coaching and moral support from Ms Trewartha.
There were 20 teams from 10 schools (109 students) that came along on the day, all with a range physical and mental disabilities providing us with some competition, but I think that it was a learning experience giving us a sense of morality and rectitude. Overall it was a great day and I know that everyone enjoyed being there. Hopefully there are more days like this to come.
