Celebrating Significant Women in our Lives (Issue 6 2016)
Written on the 12 May 2016
Year 7 boys celebrated the gift of mothers and all the significant women in their lives who nurture and support them.
The theme for year 7 this year is focused around the Marist Characteristic 'In the Way of Mary.' They have identified some of the qualities of Mary and how these qualities influence us as Catholics and Marists. Mary was reflective, committed to God, loyal, a gentle mother and faithful. She was courageous and open.
Mary said YES when she was asked to be the mother of Jesus, even though she must have been puzzled and wondered what was ahead of her. Each of us is called to trust in God who wants goodness for everyone.
Many mothers, carers, grandparents and friends joined in our Eucharistic Celebration and certainly enjoyed the conversation over scones, jam and cream afterwards.
