2017 Senior Football Presentation Evening
On 26 September, our senior footballers gathered at Glenelg Golf Club to celebrate another successful footy season at Sacred Heart College.
We had over 100 guests, including players from our 1st and 2nd XVIII, as well as award winners from our 3rd, 4th and 5th XVIII. These players were accompanied by parents, special guests, coaches and staff from Sacred Heart College.
We were thrilled to have Old Scholar, Matthew Liptak as our special guest. He imparted some excellent words of wisdom onto our students and relayed his fond memories of playing football at Sacred Heart College and how his football experiences have had a positive impact on the rest of his life. We thank Matthew for taking the time to attend this celebration as our special guest.
Please see below a list of award winners from the evening. We congratulate them on their achievements.
Numerous awards were presented on the night across all teams, but none more prestigious than the Colin Morris Trophy, awarded to the Best and Fairest player in the First XVIII side. This year the award winner was Charlie Ballard, who has played First XVIII football as a Year 11 and Year 12 student. Congratulations to Charlie.
Special thanks must go to all guests for their attendance on the evening, including Principal, Steve Byrne; Deputy Principal, Mr Daniel Lynch, College Council Chair, Paul Teisseire and his wife Joyce, as well as the significant number of parents in attendance. We also thank our Sports Trainers for their attendance and their dedication and hard work throughout the season.
I would also like to thank some of our leaders for the excellent job they did in assisting with the hosting of the evening. Well done to James Rowe (First XVIII Captain), Sebastian Kerrish (First XVIII Vice Captain), Charlie Ballard (First XVIII Deputy Vice Captain), Tom McInerney (2nd XVIII Captain) and Zac Sanderson (2nd XVIII Vice Captain).
Finally, thanks also must be extended to our coaches and staff at Sacred Heart College who dedicate so much of their time towards the development of our students as footballers and as young men.
We look forward to another successful year in 2018 and wish all of our outgoing Year 12s all the best with their footballing endeavours in the future.
