Year 7 Canberra Trip
Last Thursday I had the opportunity to join our Year 7 learners and educators in Canberra and spent the day at the War Memorial and Questacon, with a very excited and enthused group of young people. To say I was impressed with the respect, engagement and enthusiasm that our Year 7's displayed would be an absolute understatement! My thanks and recognition goes to the Year 7 educators who did an outstanding job in preparing and leading in both Canberra and Mittagong.
Champagant Campus - Building Update
The building works continue to develop at a rate of knots and the fabric of the building is certainly starting to take start shape! Bathrooms, joinery and internal fit outs are currently underway and the external cladding on the Marymount, Good Samaritan and Food Tech buildings are almost complete. By the end of this term we are expecting the buildings to be at lock up stage and we are well on schedule to have the buildings complete by Christmas.
R U OK Day
Throughout this week, learners at the Middle School have been participating in activities in the lead up to R U OK? Day this Thursday 13 September. While the topic of mental health is not always an easy one to discuss, it is important that we work with young people and the wider community to break down the stigma of mental health and provide support where it is most needed. We encourage families to also discuss with their child/ren the themes around R U OK? Day and the importance of connecting with a trusted adult, teacher or counsellor if they are experiencing difficulties themselves or believe their peers are. For more information about R U OK? Day click here.
