From the Assistant to the Principal - Champagnat Project (Issue 9 2018)
Written on the 21 June 2018
Last Sunday our Sacred Heart Pedal Prix team competed in their first event of the season, at the impressive Victoria Park race track. It was a special moment for our 45 riders and our College as for the first time we entered and competed as a combined Marymount and Sacred Heart Team. Many new families were welcomed into to the Pedal Prix family and they braved the cold and blustery conditions - a fantastic demonstration of family spirit in action! Behind our dedicated riders there is a wonderful group of parent volunteers and the teaching staff who both coordinate and support. I acknowledge and thank the fine efforts of Sonja Brownridge, Sean Perry, Joe Millemaci and Kate Bawden from both Middle School and Marymount Campus who are leading Pedal Prix in 2018. If you haven't had the opportunity to witness Pedal Prix in action, I warmly encourage you to do so! The next event is on Sunday 29 July at Victoria Park and I can assure you, our riders would love to see you there.
End of Semester 1 Reports
Teaching staff are in the final stages of preparing the End of Semester Reports and these will be distributed to learners at the Middle School next Thursday 29 June. In reading through the reports, I encourage families to identify and discuss both growth and achievement made across all areas of learning and to consider new possible learning goals for the second half of the year. The Good News Assembly next week will us provide us with the opportunity to acknowledge students who have obtained excellence in their academic endeavour and those who displayed ongoing commitment, a positive attitude and persistence towards their learning.
