Students have been emailed the following information.

STAGE 2 (YEAR 12) RESULTS - this includes Year 11 students studying Stage 2 Religion
Stage 2 SACE results are expected to be available through Students Online on Tuesday 19 December from 8.30 am. Official documentation (including SACE Certificate and Record of Achievement) will arrive in accordance with local, national and international postal delivery schedules.

Students should check their address is correct by logging onto Students Online to ensure documentation is posted to the correct address.

Students need their SACE registration number and PIN to log on. If they have never logged in before (unlikely I would hope) the PIN is the first 4 digits of the student's birthday (e.g. 3rd January would have PIN 0301). The PIN will be changed after the first log in (may have already changed if logged in previously). The PIN can be reset from this page if necessary.
Stage 2 results will be sent to the address recorded on Students Online in December. Please email Deborah Hearl (DeborahHearl@shc.sa.edu.au) by 30 November at the latest with the correct address if it is wrong.

Year 12 students applying for courses through SATAC should ensure that their postal address and email is correct when they log on to SATAC - this is SEPARATE to SACE - else they won't receive course offers. The contact email address should NOT be the student's school email as this account will be inactive after 31 December 2017. STUDENTS are responsible for checking this information and changing if necessary.

Will you get SACE this year?
For most Year 12 students, the remaining "boxes to tick" to get SACE this year are:

  • pass 3 full Year, Stage 2 subjects
  • pass Research Project (if they haven't already)
  • get 200 SACE credits.

Students expecting to complete a Certificate III this year that can count towards the ATAR must ensure I receive the required documentation by 30 November at the very latest.


Students who are seriously ill (3 days or more) before an exam or ill on the day of an exam or have had a significant interruption to study in the lead up to exams:

  • should contact me ASAP by email at karenbailey@shc.sa.edu.au
  • ensure you have spoken to me BEFORE the exam commences
  • the SACE Board strongly recommend students still attend, even if unwell
  • students who sit the exam when unwell may choose to apply to use their moderated predicted exam mark by seeing me at the end of the exam. An appointment to see a doctor the same day must be made (doctor is not to be related to the student). If the application is approved by the SACE Board, the student will receive the better of the two marks.

Surprisingly, the vast majority of students who sit the exam when unwell, still do better than their moderated predicted mark!

Year 12 SACE Board written examinations commenced at Sacred Heart on Monday 6 November. Students received an exam attendance slip and exam timetable with dates, times and locations in addition to rules relating to sitting the exam. Students must familiarise themselves with these rules and ensure that they know exactly what equipment they are/are not permitted to take into the exam room. Students should also familiarise themselves with the instructions on the front cover of each of their exams (distributed by class teachers and also accessible at the SACE Board website).

I would particularly like to point out that students are not permitted to have a mobile phone or smart watch in their possession and hence these items should not be brought into the examination room.

Ideally exam attendance slips should be brought to each exam. I don't have extra copies so cannot do anything to assist if it has been lost or forgotten. It will not be the end of the world if a student forgets to bring it. It is a bit like a driver's licence - unlikely that I need to check it unless there is a problem!

Pencil cases, calculator covers (if a calculator is permitted) and other paper (unless approved notes for Mathematics exams) are also not to be brought into the exam room.
If students are permitted to bring a calculator for one or more of their exams, it must be on the list of approved calculators. Likewise, any dictionaries need to be on the list of approved dictionaries. The links below will take you to the lists of approved calculators and dictionaries:

Students should aim to arrive at the venue 20 minutes before the scheduled start time as there are a number of administrative tasks to do before the exam starts. Please be aware there is a seating arrangement.


Most exams will be held in Champagnat Hall, but not ALL - so very important to check the exam timetable carefully.

Please note that Year 10 and 11 ENGLISH students will be doing their exam on their Chromebook/laptop device. It is essential that Year 10 and 11 English students bring their fully charged Chromebook/device to their English exam.
It is not appropriate for families to book holidays during this important assessment period. In keeping with SACE Board policy, "matters of the student's own choosing (e.g. family holidays)" are not acceptable grounds for special provisions (such as rescheduling). The consequence for students missing exams due to holidays is therefore unfortunately zero.

YEAR 12 WEEK 1 2018 - 27-30 November
Year 11 students will have their first week of 2018 Year 12 lessons in the week following Year 11 exams. Students and parents of Year 11 students have been emailed details regarding this week (27-30 Nov).
