From the Head of Middle School (Issue 15 2017)
Written on the 28 September 2017
It certainly has been a very busy and rewarding couple of weeks. Undoubtedly there are many staff and students who are looking forward to the term break. The last two weeks have seen the following events take place:
I would sincerely like to thank all of those involved in the planning, preparation, supervision and overall general support of these events. They are great opportunities for our students to come together, showcasing their skills whilst continuing to build a great sense of community. Well done to all!
Over the term both the Senior and Middle Schools have been developing a new policy and procedure around attendance and absenteeism. It is vitally important that we keep an accurate record of each student's attendance and punctuality. Hopefully we have been able to tighten up the process, ensuring that we can use a variety of methods to ensure that the appropriate follow up occurs and that accurate reports are generated to identify trends through our student management system, Edumate. Once the document is complete I will post a link to it as we intend to trial at the Middle School across next term.
On Friday you will receive your son's report. Please take the time to discuss with him both positive aspects and the areas where there may be room for improvement. Setting goals is a really important part of the learning cycle.
Have a great break and a reminder that all students return to school (summer uniform including a hat) on Monday 16 October.
