From the Head of Middle School (Issue 16 2017)
Written on the 26 October 2017
Welcome to Term 4 and the countdown towards the end of another fine academic year.
I would like to use this article with the mindful approach of gratitude and thanks. From my office at the Middle School, I am fortunate to witness the work of our administration team in the front office - with firsthand knowledge I can fully appreciate the work they do in supporting the teaching and learning at Sacred Heart. This focus is sharpened when such events such as Sports Day come around. I think we would all agree that Sports Day this year was one of the best I have been associated with and I am not only thankful to Ash Jenner and the Be Active Committee, but also our admin team who play a crucial role in the organisation and communication required to run such an event.
Another fine example of this was at the Year 9 Social on Friday night (photos below). I would like to thank the Year 9 Team, led by Deb King for their wonderful planning, organisation and supervision of the evening. Most staff would have crawled into bed just before midnight, but I am sure all would agree that it was worth it! It was a cracking evening! Our boys looked amazing and their behaviour and the way in which they engaged with the evening was outstanding. They truly are developing into fine young men who are deeply connected to the Marist story - clearly evidenced when the last song of the evening didn't belong to Ed Sheeran or Beyonce, but rather a stirring rendition of "Hearts on Fire".
