Dear members of the Sacred Heart College community

Robyn Verrall (SHOC 1982 - MAICD, FGLF, Business Mentor, RN, Exporter, Leader, Speaker, Regions, Fundraising, Gourmand award winning author)

Robyn is a well known and respected member of the South East rural community and beyond. She has championed numerous causes including the Keith Hospital, Rural Business Development and the Sacred Heart Centenary at Paringa Hall a few years ago. This link provides an insight to Robyn's intestinal fortitude and perhaps some inspiration for our Year 12 students as they undertake their final exams www.wibnetwork.com.au/news/bullys-meat-director-talks-business-crises/

Robyn posted the following earlier this week in her inimitable, understated, Marist kind of way:

I have woken this morning to see I am a finalist in the www.facebook.com/SAWomanAustralia/ Awards Regional Section for www.facebook.com/BullysBeef by enabling families to purchase high quality local foods at family friendly prices.

Totally thrilled and blessed. Please feel free to vote and share. PUBLIC VOTING IS NOW OPEN http://bit.ly/sawomanawards2018finalists
Voting Closes THIS Friday at Midnight.

So, let's put our support behind Robyn!

Proposed 2019 Bus Run
Thank you to the 222 people who responded to the survey. We have considered the responses and noted that 175 families were interested in using the service each day. We also noted the concern around the cost, the route and waiting times. The pricing was set on a cost-recovery basis. It also provides an insight to the subsidies which other Colleges are able to provide and most definitely our State Government in regard to Metro services. We continue to consider possibilities and will have further discussions with the Bus Company. We will be publishing the final proposal shortly. It will likely entail a 'first come' basis for securing the places which are made available.

Meanwhile, thank you for input on this issue and also for the 'School Satisfaction Surveys' which have also been distributed. A 'Boarding Satisfaction Survey' is also on its way. These surveys provide very helpful feedback and data in shaping key decisions across a range of areas. I am aware that sometimes we can be fatigued by the survey process, so your responses are much appreciated!

In early December (4-11) we host the Marist Cricket Carnival. The billets will be required to be at the Senior School from 8.15am to 6.30pm each day of the cricket carnival. We ask host families to supply the billets with breakfast, dinner, a bed, use of their washing machine to do a few loads of washing and transport to and from the College.

If you are able to assist, please contact Coralie Bandiera on 8350 2797 or coraliebandiera@shc.sa.edu.au. Police clearances will be required from all billeting families and due to processing time, it is imperative that we hear from interested families by Monday 12 November.

With thanks,

Steve Byrne
