From the Sport Coordinators (Issue 6 2018) Sport
Written on the 1 November 2018
Dear members of the Sacred Heart College Community
Term 4 has continued to be a busy term at Marymount Campus with final rounds of Knockout Tennis, Cricket, Volleyball and Basketball. We have once again fielded teams in the Southern Zone mid-week Badminton, Volleyball and Tennis competitions with all girls displaying great team spirit. Our Saturday morning Touch Football and Basketball girls have had a flying start to the season, as have the Year 6/7 Miniball and Spikezone teams. Recipients of the Team Spirit Awards will be announced at our annual CEA Presentation Night on Tuesday 27 November in the Polding Centre.
At the Middle School we are preparing for yet another busy term of CEA's. This term will also see the conclusion of many of the Knockout sports. We are fortunate enough to still have Cricket, Tennis and Badminton teams remaining in these competitions and we look forward to keeping the community up-to-date with these results. Weekend sports have once again kicked off without issue, with thanks to our coordinators and coaches who have worked very hard. Further to this, it has been fantastic to highlight Water Polo success at the College. It has been some time since this has occurred at the Middle School, but we have a great group of students together, who have some serious ability in the water!
Although weekly sport had completed in week 6 last term, there were still many activities happening within the Senior Campus. Knockout soccer and basketball continued along with the Achilles Cup in the last week of term. Our premiership teams and individual award winners were recognised at the boys and girls Sports Presentations held in the Br McAteer Centre. This was the first time that the boys sports were presented in this manner and we will hopefully build on the numbers for next year. Term 4 sport is now underway and the online Sport Nominations for 2019 are open for completion by Monday 3 December.
