Hearts Sportswoman of the Year
It gives me great pleasure to congratulate our 2018 Hearts Sportswoman of the Year - Emma DeBroughe. Emma has been a participant of the College Hockey program during her time at SHC receiving the 2017 Best & Fairest award and the 2018 ACK/SHC MVP. She has also represented the College in Athletics, Knockout Soccer and Knockout Football.

Beyond the College Sports program, Emma is a member of the Australian Jnr Hockey side, who represented Australia and won gold competing in Papua New Guinea, as part of the Oceania qualifiers and qualified for the Youth Olympic Games held in Buenos Aires during October 2018. Emma also competed in Tasmania as part of the SA State Hockey Team in the National U18 tournament.

Emma is also a talented Cricket player. She was selected and also Vice Captain of the U18 Girls State Cricket team. From the U18 Nationals, Emma was also chosen to be in the Cricket Australia Development Team which played in the inaugural U18 WBBL match at the MCG in January. Emma was also selected as the Adelaide Strikers' U18 Rookie for the WBBL03.

Congratulations Emma!

Term 4 Sport
The Term 4 sport season has come to an end concluding girls sport for 2018. SHC entered a Basketball side in the Senior A grade Catholic Competition and the Girls Tennis team in the Open B grade.

The Basketball team faced a strong A grade competition with Mercedes, Nazareth and St Michaels proving too strong this term. With an ever rotating team, coach Sarah Turnbull did well to manage and structure a competitive side each week. Hosting the competition at SHC did allow for our Boarder's to be well utilised and gave some students a chance to try competitive basketball for the first time.

The Tennis team had a brilliant season with wins over St Ignatius Jnr and Snr, Loreto and Mary Mackillop. We were unable to field a team against Cabra due to the Boarder exeat, but the 4 wins saw the SHC girls finish in second place. Well done to the team and a huge thank you to Bernadette Thorpe for managing the team for 2018.
