Music is alive and well at Marymount! (Issue 6 2018)
Written on the 10 May 2018
The music department at Marymount Campus has been a hive of activity as we prepared for our trip to Mount Gambier for the Generations in Jazz last weekend. The Stage Band played 3 pieces extremely well and as a part of the festival saw James Morrison, Patty Austin and The Cat Empire play, among many other artists. It was a wonderful opportunity for our girls to see the potential that music can play in their lives. We congratulate the Stage Band members and thank the support of families and staff who attended.
We also have a number of ensembles and bands including Concert Band, ukulele, percussion and string ensembles and Dolci vocal group who continue their work and preparation for performance opportunities including the Mother's Day assembly, Founders Day tomorrow, as well as a Marymount music event to be held in Week 8 of this term. This will feature our ensembles as well as soloists, recommended by the Campus instrumental tutors. We're very keen for you all to hear and see what our talented students have been working on and encourage you to keep an eye out for more details.
