Year 6/7 Saturday Soccer
Marymount Campus participated in the Southern Districts Junior Soccer Association for Terms 2/3 this year. The girls had a very successful season, consisting of a number of students who attempted the sport for the first time. The team played against all-girls and mixed teams throughout the season, showing great determination and a never give up attitude in all games played. They played well consistently, coming away with several wins during the season, none greater than an 8-1 win against rivals St Peter's Woodlands. All attended trainings with a positive attitude, looking for feedback throughout drills to develop techniques and skills. The leadership and teamwork shown throughout the season was admirable, with the girls encouraging and praising each other's efforts. The team also participated in the annual Primary Night Soccer Carnival, facing strong competition and winning several hotly contested games. The girls are commended for their hard work and dedication this season.
Year 8/9 Saturday Soccer
This team began the season with great enthusiasm which was present in every game. Although we were short on numbers for some weeks, they worked hard throughout our Friday night training sessions and were keen and ready to go on Saturday mornings. Every player has improved enormously - each of them striving to do their best. The girls finished the season tied for 3rd and 4th and I was very proud of their achievements, which made it a pleasure to be their coach. Individual efforts to be acknowledged goes to Charlotte Clarke who scored 16 goals for the season.
