Year 12 SACE Results 2020

We are delighted to report that our Year 12 students achieved excellent results, both in the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and with their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

We are confident that our graduating students are well equipped as independent learners and well-rounded young adults to take on the challenges that exist beyond Sacred Heart in the years ahead.

For the fifth consecutive year, 100% of the eligible Year 12 students enrolled at Sacred Heart College (300 students) successfully completed their SACE. This accounts for almost 1600 successful students in the past 5 years!

Year 12 Graduation Ceremony (Saturday 5 December)

Our traditional Graduation ceremony was held in the voluminous Adelaide Entertainment Centre recently.  Doing so made compliance with the COVID restrictions manageable and it also provided an appropriate sense of formality as the Class of 2020 concluded their time at the College.

It was important to have extended family in attendance to mark this significant milestone in our young people’s lives! Families wishing to access photos from our Year 12 Graduation Ceremony are invited to click on the link below:

The following prompts will guide you through how to purchase images:

  • Enter the Password – SHC2020 (case sensitive)
  • Select Event – SHC Graduation 2020

A special mention to our Indigenous Graduates. Three of them were acknowledged at a ceremony in Sydney last weekend as they have successfully completed their schooling as part of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program which is managed by The Smith Family. Again, it was important that their family was present. Well done to Chariqua Buzzacott, Becky McKenzie and Clay Stuart. Donald Aitken also graduated which meant that Sacred Heart continues to have a 100% SACE Completion by the students in Aboriginal Program!

So, the most challenging of schooling years draws to a close. It seems quite surreal that Sacred Heart closed on Friday the 13th of March, 2020, for a ‘deep clean’ due to the first case in Australia of a school student testing positive to the virus. It is even stranger to consider that for the first time since boarding commenced at the College in 1905 that the Boarding House was closed for a period during Term 2!

In spite of this, the Hearts Family held strong and despite numerous revised plans and disruptions, most of our usual programs and events were conducted, celebrated and well attended in compliance with restrictions previously unheard of such as ‘social distancing’!

As the vaccines begin to roll out around the world we, the College leadership, thank you for your support and trust across 2020. We wish you a safe and blessed Christmas and may 2021 be all you wish it to be!

Merry Christmas!
